This policy applies to our use of our website, letters and emails for marketing purposes, and any other methods we use for collecting information. It covers what we collect and why, what we do with the information, what we won’t do with the information, and what rights you have.

Where do we collect your information from?

We collect information in the following ways:

We only collect information given to us directly by you. This may be when you enquire about classes in your area, when you make a purchase fromus or when you enquire about business opportunities. It may simply be when you email, telephone or talk to us.

Please note that we operate a number of social media pages. Please exercise the usual caution and personally ensure that your privacy is protected via the settings on these third party sites. We have no control over how your information is used on pages like Facebook or Twitter. Please refer to each site’s own privacy policies for more information.

Like most websites, we use “cookies” to help us make our site – and the way you use it – better. Cookies mean that a website will remember you. They are small text files which sites transfer to your computer (or phone or tablet). They make interacting with a website faster and easier – for example by automatically filling your name and address in text fields. There are more details about cookies in our Cookie Policy.

What information do we collect and why?

We will only ever collect the information we need.

  • your name, address, email address and telephone numbers;
  • your child’s name, date of birth, details of any medical conditions and details of a guardian or emergency contact;
  • (when using the shop) payment details which vary according to your chosen payment method when purchasing with us; and
  • (where you are interested in being a Licensed Teacher) information provided on any enquiry form submitted to us.

Where any of this information is sensitive personal data, such as medical information, we will seek your explicit consent before processing such information.

We will mainly use your data to:

  • share with your local Licensed Teacher as necessary to provide Musical Bumps classes.
  • contact you, based on the preferences you selected when you completed a Musical Bumps registration form, or an enquiry form regarding Musical Bumps information and promotions. Such contact will only be made by email from which you can opt out at any time;
  • carry out our obligations arising under any contracts entered into between you and us and to provide you with the information and services that you request from us;
  • notify you about changes to our services;
  • comply with our record keeping and information storage obligations and policy (please see the ”Where We Store Your Personal Data” section below for more details).

Please note that any third party payment services provider (for example Stripe, PayPal or WorldPay) ensures that we do not keep or store any of your card details. Any third party payment service provider used will be a ‘Participating Organization’ in the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council.

Disclosure of your information

You agree that we have the right to share your and your child(ren)’s personal information with:

Our Licensed Teachers for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you.

We will only share the minimum information necessary for the purpose and will not share identifying information outside of the Musical Bumps network of Licensed Teachers without your express permission.

With the exception of payment data, which may be processed externally by a third party (see above), we will not disclose any of your or your child(ren)’s personal information to third parties outside of Musical Bumps except:

In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we will disclose your anonymised personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.

In the event that one of our Licensed Teachers sells their franchise, in which case your information will be transferred to the new owner in order to continue providing Musical Bumps classes to you.

If we, or substantially all of our assets, are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about our users will be one of the transferred assets;

If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation.

Storing your data

All electronic information and paper copy information is stored securely, password protected and/or under lock and key. Your information will only be kept whilst you remain an active customer and will be destroyed securely within 1 year of inactivity.

All of our licensed teachers are under similar obligations.

We will take reasonable steps to protect your information in accordance with this policy, including (without limitation):

Installing a secure firewall;

Using anti-virus protection software;

Carrying out regular back-ups.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of the Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Our US email marketing provider (Mailchimp) is fully compliant with current GDPR legistation and the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. Our cloud-based storage uses TLS and local encryption.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the website at all times, and any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

What we don’t do with your information

We never sell or share your information to other organisations.

Keeping your details up to date

Please contact us if your details change, or if you would like to change how we contact you. Please also contact us if you’d like your details removed from our records.

Your rights

Data Protection legislation gives you certain rights over your data and how we use it. These include:

  • the right to have inaccurate personal data rectified, blocked, erased or destroyed;
  • the right to prevent your data being used for direct marketing;
  • the right of access to a copy of the information we hold about you (known as a subject access request). We will respond to any request within one month.
